Who we are

caritas Christi urget nos

Regnum Christi (Latin for “Kingdom of Christ”) is a Federation (within the Catholic Church) comprised of four vocations: Legionaries of Christ (the priestly congregation), Consecrated Women of Regnum ChristiLay Consecrated Men of Regnum Christi and the Lay Members of Regnum Christi. Regnum Christi has a Christ-Centered spirituality that is lived together in communion with all members (all four vocations), in union with the whole Church, and through a mission to build the kingdom of Christ. Regnum Christi is made up of over 25,000 members throughout 38 countries world-wide.

A brief history of the RC Ontario locality

The first seeds of our locality were planted in 1991 with only 10 members, our first apostolate was initiated in the late 1990’s and apostolates have continued to grow since then. Although we are called 'Ontario' our locality’s geographic territory spans over all Eastern Canada; the members in our diaspora include Cornwall, Quebec, and the Maritimes.  The Legionaries of Christ Community was formed in Oakville, Ontario in 2009. Our locality has experienced renewed and steady growth, with teams of perseverance forming with members from Toronto, Richmond Hill, Scarborough, Newmarket, Peel and Halton area.

In April 2020, our local governance changed from having a Local Director and Local Committee to
Local College with a Chair.

The Regnum Christi journey through life

"In the creation, God commanded the plants to bring forth their fruits, each one according to its kind; even so He commands all Christians, who are living plants of the Church, to bring forth their fruits of devotion, each one according to his quality and vocation."

Our LC community

Driven by the desire of Jesus’ heart to set the world ablaze, the religious priests of the Legionaries of Christ support each other and work in communion with other Regnum Christi members in their mission to form apostles, people who let the love of Christ the King transform their hearts, their families and their world.

Spiritual Director, Youth chaplain

Fr. Pierre Caouette, LC

Fr. Pierre is from Québec and has two younger sisters. He joined the seminary at the age of 18 and was ordained a priest in Rome on December 24, 2010 along with his cousin Fr. Janick. After his ordination, Fr Pierre stayed two more years in Rome to do a master’s degree. He went to Montréal for his first assignment where he worked in three parishes and did youth ministry in team with Fr. Louis and the other community members. Summer 2015 he was transferred to the Oakville community where he does youth ministry with Fr. Jerek and assists Regnum Christi members. He also enjoys fellowship with diocesan priests in the area and likes working in team with them.
