Fifteen years after receiving a warm welcome in the Hamilton Diocese, thanks to God, St. Joseph, and the generous support of friends, our dream has come true - we bought a house! This important milestone strengthens our roots in the community so we can further grow our mission in communion with the local clergy.

What is our Mission?

Our Charism as Legionaries of Christ is to form lay people who will partake in projects of evangelization and foster Christian life in the local community.

Our Local Impact

Celebrating the sacraments and preaching at local parishes.

Providing retreats for men, women and couples in parishes in partnership with pastors, parishioners and our spiritual family Regnum Christi.

Accompanying adults and teens who are leading youth ministries.

Leading Catholic weekend retreats and camps for youth.

Organizing missions for teens and adults during which they feed the homeless and share the faith with the people they meet.

Celebrating Mass in Catholic High Schools.

Where Are We Now?

Thanks to God, St. Joseph, and your generosity, phase one has been successfully accomplished. The house is fully paid, and we’ve completed major indoor renovations — a new kitchen, updated washrooms, a finished basement, and all new windows and doors. After all these renovations, all we have left to pay off is a loan of $75,000 which we plan to settle by December 2026.

We have the house! Now we are in phase two of our house campaign.

What's Next?

The goal of phase two is to address the most urgent issues we still face in making this house a restful home for our priests, brothers, and missionaries, which overflows into our mission. Those most urgent needs are:

  • To replace the leech field, which flows back into the house when it rains…not pleasant!

  • Complete the transformation of our garage into a living room/gathering space.

  • Install a new driveway.

  • Build an eventual deck on the back of our house, and fix some of the entrances.

  • Settle our loan.

How Can You Help?

Every gift counts! Monthly donations help us cover ongoing needs, while one-time gifts go directly toward upcoming projects — starting with the leech field. Tax receipts are available for all contributions.

We are so grateful for your continued support. Check the thermometer chart below to see our progress!

How can you help?

In this second phase, we hope you’ll join us in bringing our house to its full potential. Please consider:

  • Providing financial support.

  • Introducing us to friends and family who would like to contribute.

  • Volunteering your time to help with the campaign.

  • Praying for a successful completion of this project.

Paventi Family

"Our friendship with the Legionary priests started over 20 years ago. We have been involved in many apostolates with them such as retreats for couples, youth ministry, and missions for people in need. Those experiences have been beneficial for our spiritual life, family dynamic, and have formed our children into natural leaders, slowly filling their toolboxes with excellent values and virtues."

"Through my personal experience, I found the Legionary priests to be a positive contributor to both the spreading of God’s message and enacting its message. The good works they perform for and in team with individuals and groups has proven to both strengthen and expand the faith community. Assisting our local clergy, guiding retreats for adults and leading youth activities are some of those good works."

Sofia

I joined Challenge, a Catholic youth ministry, in grade 4. That’s where the Legionary priests first planted the seed of faith within me. Through their dedication, spiritual insights and leadership, I became passionate about my faith and felt God’s love working through them. As a current university student, I can confidently say that the seed they planted years ago continues to flourish.

Join us in praying to St Joseph

Remember, O most chaste spouse of the Virgin Mary, that never has it been known that anyone who asked for your help and sought your intercession was left unaided. Full of confidence in your power, I hasten to you, beg intercession for this project and your protection for my family. Listen, O foster-father of the Redeemer, to my humble prayer, and in your goodness hear and answer me.

Amen.
