Self-Directed Advent Preparation

Advent is the season when we celebrate with anticipation the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ as an infant into our human world. As we continue in our journey of deepening our relationship with Jesus Christ, the women’s section leaders offer you a basket of self-directed Advent retreats where you will have the opportunity to choose your desired path to preparing the way of the Lord into your heart.

To initiate your journey, we suggest that you to view this Taize chant to help prepare your hearts and minds for the coming of our Lord. “Wait for the Lord whose day is near; wait for the Lord, keep watch, take heart”.

We also invite you to join us on December 16th in Adoration at Mary Mother of God Parish, where we will have an hour and half of Adoration and Advent meditations from our Legionaries of Christ. There will also be an opportunity for confession during this time.

Finally, we offer the following resources to help begin your self-directed preparation during advent:

O Come, O Come Emmanuel

O come, O come, Emmanuel,

And ransom captive Israel,

That mourns in lonely exile here,

Until the Son of God appear

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel

Shall Come to thee, O Israel
