For teens, guys and girls, ages 14-18
Cost: $30 per day
For this mission, missionaries will sleep at home and come to the mission each day. Arrangements can be made with host families for those coming from far away.
Includes serving the homeless, street evangelization, prayer, formation, and fun trips to the 4 cities we will mission in.
Day Mission Details
Where
For day missions we gather at one of two parishes:

St Joseph’s Parish, 2451 Old Bronte Rd, Oakville

St Philippe Parish, 472 Locust St, Burlington
Who
Open to all ages, but youth under 12 must be accompanied by a parent. If you’re a parent coming with young children, please register as a Family by clicking “Adults and Family Registration”
When
On the day of each mission we meet at 10am and finish the day at 8pm. The basic schedule includes the following:

Formation in the morning

Lunch

Mission all afternoon

Mass, dinner, adoration
What do we do
Missions consist in feeding the homeless, visiting the elderly at retirement homes, and outreach to the general public (giving out free drinks and asking for prayer intentions). Missionaries are assigned to one of these missions and don’t get to choose where they will be missioning.
Cost
$15 to cover food and supplies. We strongly encourage each missionary to purchase a mission t-shirt ($17) or hoodie ($45) so we can be identified as missionaries by others.
Summer Mission Details

Join our annual summer missions to serve the homeless, help at soup kitchens, and do outreach to share the love and joy of Christ with everyone we meet.
This mission is full of bonding with friends and powerful spiritual experiences.
These missions function as a day-mission for each day of the week. Missionaries should arrive at St Joseph’s parish at 9am each day, and the evening events finish at 9pm. For those coming from far away, there will be host families willing to let you stay at their home for the week.
During the day we make day trips to Toronto, Niagara Falls, and Hamilton.
To cover the costs we ask each missionary to pay $30/day, with partial scholarships available for those who need it.
Requesting Volunteer Hours
After completing a day-mission or a longer mission (weekend or week-long mission) you can request a letter or a form recognizing your volunteer service hours required by your school.
Hamilton Mission Youth gives up to 8 hours a day, and not more, even though you may have been present for more than 8 hours. This is because much of the schedule is not directly volunteer work. For this reason, a day mission will obtain 8 hours, and a 5-day mission will get 40 hours.

In your email please include the date or dates of the mission you participated in.
Usually service hours are not needed urgently, so we process these requests on a month-by-month basis, and ask for your patience. If you need it urgently, please state so in your email.
