The Local College for Regnum Christi Ontario plays a vital role in guiding and supporting the mission of our locality. Its responsibilities include fostering collaboration among all Regnum Christi entities, supporting section directors, and overseeing the administration needed for our community to thrive.

A Heartfelt Thank You

We extend our deepest gratitude to the outgoing members of the Local College for their dedicated service. Their commitment, generosity, and leadership have greatly blessed our locality and advanced the mission of Regnum Christi here in Ontario.

To celebrate and give thanks, we will soon be hosting a Wine & Cheese Social, an opportunity to officially thank those who are stepping down and to welcome the new members stepping into leadership.

Meet the New Members

Fr. Adam Zettel, LC

Fr. Adam Zettel, L.C., was born in Walkerton, Ontario. He entered the Legion of Christ after studying one year of Liberal Arts, and did his Novitiate and Humanistic studies in Cheshire, Connecticut. After completing a Bachelor’s in Philosophy in Rome, he helped with the formation of Legionary novices in both Cheshire and Cornwall. Ordained a priest in December 2017, he served in Rome as assistant to the Chaplain of the European University of Rome, ministering to university students in Italy, before later serving as Chaplain at Highlands School in Texas. Since 2021, he has been part of the Oakville community, where he serves as Chaplain for the RC Young Adult Section.

Catherine Lewis

Catherine associated to Regnum Christi in November 2022 and currently serves as Team Leader for the Brampton Women’s team. She is married to Garrett Chafe and is the proud mother of two energetic boys, Eddie and William. Catherine earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Nutrition and Food from Ryerson University and works full-time as a Field Sales Coordinator with Bimbo Canada, where she oversees the legal onboarding and renewals of Franchisees and Distributors. She and her family make their home in Brampton, Ontario.

Alex Volkel

Alex Volkel associated to Regnum Christi in 2016 and currently serves as Men’s Section Leader for the Ontario locality. Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, in an Italian-German family, he earned an Engineering degree in Venezuela and an MBA from Arizona State University before moving with his wife, Enid Tirado, and their son, Eric, to Oakville in 2008. From 2011 to 2024, Alex served as adult leader of the Conquest Boys Club (ECYD) in Oakville. Since 2014, he has worked as a Pre-Sales Consultant with SAP, specializing in procurement software. He and his family are active members of the Oakville community.

Tima Borges – Chair

Tima associated to Regnum Christi in April 2007 and currently serves as Team Leader for the Milton Women’s team, while also helping to coordinate local marketing, communications, and events. She is married to David Borges and is the proud mom of four boys, Donovan, Evan, Andrew, and Jeremy. A co-founder of Mater Boni Consilii Academy (MBCA), Tima served as Chair of the Board from 2013 to 2025. She earned a Diploma in Law and Security Administration from Sheridan College and a Certificate in Writing for Publication from the Long Ridge Writers Group. Tima works part-time as a Communications Specialist with Edge Factor, a career development company, while also homeschooling one of her sons. She and her family reside in Milton, Ontario.
